      welcome · volunteer training

A warm, safe night starts with you.

Good Neighbors Warming Center · Overnight support for women · Reno, Nevada · Year three

A place to get warm, rest, and be treated with dignity.

During the coldest months, the Good Neighbors Warming Center opens overnight so women in Reno have somewhere safe to sleep. Volunteers are a big part of what makes each night run: welcoming guests, keeping the space calm, and making sure staff know what guests need.

This is the warming center's third year. If you are returning, some things have changed, so please read every section.

      who leads this season

Hampton House Garden Project with Fiscal Management by The Black Community Collective

This season, the Black Community Collective manages payroll and key administrative work for the warming center. When this training says staff, it means the warming center team working under that leadership.
